Faculty of Computer science and artificial intelligence's students at Beni Suef University develop a smart system to enhance the blood donation system and save lives.

A team of students from the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Beni Suef University successfully developed a graduation project titled "Monqez x BloodLink," an integrated smart system aimed at improving the blood donation system in Egypt. This is achieved by connecting donors to blood banks through digital solutions based on artificial intelligence technologies, thereby streamlining donation procedures, improving blood bank management, and enhancing the speed of response to cases requiring blood transfusions.

The project consists of two main components. The first, "Monqez," is a smart application for donors that allows users to check their eligibility to donate, book appointments online, view test results and donation history, receive periodic reminders, and stay updated on upcoming donation campaigns. It also includes an incentive system to encourage continued donation.

The second component, "BloodLink," is an integrated electronic system for managing blood banks. It allows for the organization of donor data, the management of appointments and tests, the monitoring of blood bag inventory, and the generation of reports and statistics. This contributes to reducing paperwork and increasing operational efficiency within blood banks. The project utilizes artificial intelligence technologies to analyze donation data and predict future needs for different blood types. This helps improve inventory management, support decision-making, and reduce the likelihood of shortages of required blood types.

The project team emphasized that the system aims to support the digital transformation of the healthcare sector, promote a culture of blood donation, and facilitate communication between donors and blood banks. This contributes to providing blood units for critical cases in a timely manner, enhancing the efficiency of the donation system, and helping save more lives.
